Under Currents

Performed by year 9, 10 and 11 dance students at Perth’s arts focused high school. Undercurrents is a story about the development of the swan river which runs through the centre of Perth. The story tells of the progression from the rains of the Aboriginal dream time through the arrival of the dutch, the settlement of British and the eventual urban development that now surround the river.The design is based on the work of Australian artist Arthur Boyd. It takes the form of abstract trees that once surrounded the swan river.
